Take a Stroll in The Gardens

Enjoy a few hours of tranquility and peace in authentic Japanese inspired gardens at Nerima Gardens in Ipswich. Located within Queens Park in Ipswich, Nerima Gardens, is a celebration of two cultures. Japanese and Australian flora and design elements combine harmoniously to create a place of beauty and tranquility.

Take a guided tour of the gardens with interpretation of the key design elements before arriving at the Japanese Tea House. Conducted by your host, the Japanese tea ceremony is a traditional cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of matcha (powdered green tea).

Take a Day Trip

Get out and about and explore the scenically abundant Scenic Rim during your stay in Springfield Lakes.

Whatever your fancy, there are many options in the Scenic Rim, including food and wine tastings, scenic tours and other sight-seeing adventures, or guided wildlife encounters and national park bushwalks, all within reach from Ipswich and Springfield Lakes.

All Aboard a Steam Train

Get aboard an old steam train and relive a bygone era! Steam Train Sunday is a monthly event presented by The Workshops Rail Museum in Ipswich and departs from Roma Street Station in Brisbane.

The one hour trip passes through the City and city stations where you can enjoy river crossings and heritage-listed stations on your journey aboard vintage carriages. Trains depart at approximately 10:15am and 11:40am on selected Sundays.  Tickets are $25 Adults and $15 Children.

Get on Your Bike

Spend at day at the challenging mountain biking courses at Hidden Vale Adventure Park at Grandchester.

Hidden Vale offers a variety of terrain and riding to suit all levels of ability. There is plenty to see and do while out on the trails with abundant wildlife and livestock roaming. Test your Skills on the man-made structures that include – balance beams, sea-saws, bridges and more. There are well signed and easy to follow trails that range from beginner to advanced.

When to ride: From 7am until late – 7 days a week.

Cost: $10 for a day pass

Location: 617 Grandchester Mount Mort Rd, Grandchester which is 55 kms from Springfield.
