Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018

Excitement is building across the Gold Coast and other host cities Brisbane, Cairns and Townsville, as we await with anticipation for the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games 2018 to begin!

GC2018 is set to have the nation at a standstill from the 4 to 15 April 2018 as ticket holders and at home viewers tune in to see new records in the making as our champion athletes take to the track, field, pool, mat, court and road.

The GC2018 is the largest sporting event Australia will host this decade and is the biggest sporting event the Gold Coast has seen yet.

For competitors this will be a sporting event unto its own where absolutely anything is possible and achievable; and for spectators this is a truly amazing opportunity to support our athletes and help them surpass even their own expectations. Being part of GC2018 will give you more than you could ever imagine possible.


Wednesday 4th April – OPENING CEREMONY, setting the mood for a brilliant Commonwealth Games on the GOLD COAST. Held at Carrara Stadium from 6pm – 10.15pm (adult tickets from $100)

BASKETBALL – all preliminary games are being hosted by Cairns and Townsville (adult tickets $30 with the Semi and Final being held at the Gold Coast Exhibition Centre (adult tickets $40-$60)

CYCLING TRACK – all preliminary and final races are at Anna Meares Velodrome in Brisbane. (Preliminary adult tickets start from $50 and final adult tickets from $70).

SHOOTING – the finals are held at the Belmont Shooting Centre in Brisbane (adult tickets from $40).

Sporting Venues across the GOLD COAST are hosting the vast majority of events which includes athletics, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, cycling – mountain bike, cycling – road, diving, gymnastics artistic, gymnastics rhythmic, hockey, lawn bowls, netball, para power lifting, rugby sevens, squash,  swimming, table tennis, triathlon, weightlifting, wrestling.

Sunday 15th April – CLOSING CEREMONY. The final wrap up and celebration of what is expected to be a highly successful and innovative Commonwealth Games, where goals are accomplished, records smashed and stars are born. Be part of the party of the decade. 6.30pm-11.30pm (adult tickets from $70, child ticket $35)

FREE TO PUBLIC EVENTS – Want to catch some of the games for FREE? There are four events that are free to the public to attend.

Cycling – Road Race Final takes place on Saturday 14 April at the Currumbin Beach Front, the picturesque start and finish line for the road race and walk race events. A thorough and technical process has been used designing and planning the street routes making for an event showcase like no other. GOLD COAST (FREE Event)

Cycling Time Trial – at the Currumbin Beach front held on Tuesday 10 April, this extended route also runs through Tallebudgera and Currumbin Valley. GOLD COAST – (FREE Event)

Marathon Races – Sunday 15 April, the 42.195km Marathon course starts and finishes from The Southport Broadwater Parklands and loops around through Runaway Bay and up as far as Burleigh Heads. More information will be available closer to the event date as to how to access viewing posts. GOLD COAST (FREE Event)

Race Walk – Sunday 8 April is a 1km loop of the spectacular Currumbin Beachfront along Pacific Parade. Providing a stunning backdrop for athletes and spectators alike.
